Tahoe 2006
In late April 2006, I made a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. Here are a few pictures from that visit. Note - this page is a work in progress; I have many more images to add at some point.

Tahoe

After driving through ever-increasing elevations on the approach to Tahoe, the road peaks at around 8,000 feet, then you descend pretty rapidly to the lake itself (which is at around 6,000 feet). This is taken from the road as it descends to the lake (road can be seen on the left)

Having driven around the south side of the lake and into the Nevada side, I caught this sunset over the lake from some roadside turnout.

Driving back towards the south, I reached this beautiful spot before total darkness arrived. here, the sky reflects in the lake, on a beautiful calm evening. The moon is just visible near the left edge of the image, about half-way between the horizon and the top. The sunset became even more beautiful as I waited, with the moon just visible to the right of center. The water almost calm, not the slightest breeze in the air. It was getting rather chilly at this point! Click here to see the same image full-size (in a new window), so you can appreciate the colors, and see the moon.

Saturday

The following day, after an emergency coffee injection, I drove north along the west edge of the lake, and came across Emerald Bay
